Joy Mackay’s commitment to helping women facing breast cancer grew out of deep personal loss. After watching her best friend battle breast cancer and ultimately pass away, Joy felt called to take action. She had seen her husband, Larry, go through a similar heartbreak years earlier when his own best friend died of stage 4 melanoma.
Inspired by Larry’s determination with his own charities and driven by her own grief, Joy chose to create a breast cancer charity dedicated specifically to supporting women in their fight. Her mission grew from compassion, courage, and a desire to make sure no woman faces breast cancer without hope, information, and help.

EARLY DETECTION
Many say the best protection against breast cancer is early detection. This means regular breast cancer screenings. BCRAF believes that total health and wellness, in all areas of life, is crucial to the fight against breast cancer. In addition to regular cancer screenings, women should schedule regular health screenings as part of their whole health plan.
